People are saying that maybe Cadel was taking drugs, highly doubt that considering how he so against people that use them.

People are saying that maybe Cadel was taking drugs, highly doubt that considering how he so against people that use them. I can't see that being true...doesn't seem the type of person to jeopardise his reputation or values as a sportsman. Plus if you watch him compete at the TDF it's all excruciating effort and pain coming from Cadel's body unlike if you watched Lance where I just have to wonder now thinking back on it that he did make those climbs look pretty darn easy...

That latest news is another reason to not like Matty White. Oh, different fella you say. Yeah sorry for throwing you off - they both are deeply unpopular if that helps

Having watched the story that they did on 4corners about Lance Armstrong, you just have to wonder whether he could pull off passing a lie detector test after seeing how resolute and sure of himself when he gave evidence 7 years ago in an insurance claim...he truly is someone who is cunning and has got something to hide.

D-day comes tonight with UCI's response to USADA reasoned decision and whether they strip Armstrong of those 7 Tour de France titles. I would be surprised if they don't...

Guess it was probably easier for the UCI to take their medicine than run the risk of challenging it which would have opened them up to allegations of covering up doping...
Hopefully next is Armstrong to come clean; unlike how he raced throughout his career...

Next it's the IOC's turn to decide whether they strip Armstrong of his Sydney 2000 Bronze medal...it's inevitable that they do.

And now he'll have to pay back all his winnings which equals around $4M+ doesn't get any better.
Cycling is a Drug wreck, I now don't rate any cyclist anymore!

It will probably be heaps more than that once they calculate all the sponsor/insurance bonuses not to mention all the sponsors wanting back the money after being lied to by Armstrong for all these years...I'm just glad that Cadel has been clean while he's been racing protour.

So Armstrong is going to make his first interview since being stripped off his 7 tour de France titles when he appears with Oprah on the 17th of this month.
Be interesting to see if he uses it to come clean and confess to his doping or it just becomes another stage managed affair where he pleads his innocence...

According to an anonymous source Armstrong did in fact confess to doping during his interview with Oprah today. The interview is set to air our time midday Friday. This may cost him up to $120 million in law suits against him but I guess if it clears his conscience and maybe gets a reduction in his ban he will feel it's worth it. There is also some suggestion in the article that he is about to or has made a deal with USADA to turn star witness against officials higher up who may have helped cover up his doping to cut a deal to reduce his ban. It will remain to be seen whether this happens... m.cyclingnews.com/news/report-armstrong-confesses-to-doping-during-winfrey-interview

SA premier has not asked Lance to give back his appearance money for the Tour Down Unders, but has suggested they would take it back if he was offering. Think he may have also called him 'Lancestrong'.
Certainly not going to stand up for the guy, and understand there will be many out there wanting him to return their prize money and sponsorship money (and damages awarded to him for defamation), but in all fairness SAGovCo got what they paid him for - increased coverage, increased tourism, and increased spectators. He may not have been clean, but he did give them the return on investment they were seeking.

Yes Lance was deceptive in getting appearance fees/prize money/donations but without his involvement the Tour Down Under arguably wouldn't of got the world tour status it has today. I still think he should repay it all back though.

Well he confessed - basically given all his critics, the prosecutors and people who he has sued the ammunition to go after him and recover what they lost in terms of both reputation, integrity and money.
Whilst it was a confession, it was a very limited one at that.
He did not leave everything on the table, as he said both prior to and tweeted after the interview as he wouldn't speak about other riders or how the UCI was complicit in the conspiracy.
He looked to be the same defiant, arrogant cheat that he has been playing for the last 13 years - the thing that made it most clear was when he was speaking about the final investigation that USADA undertook that undid him where he said that he didn't feel it was fair that USADA called up and requested 26 sources to go speak with USADA for that investigation before he got a chance to speak (which btw is the usual process of being able to gather evidence then present it to who you are pursuing for them to directly answer and then reach a conclusion as to who is telling the truth); that it should have been Armstrong first to give evidence and to know who USADA was to call upon to give evidence against him - just another chance for Armstrong to contact them and persuade them not to speak or he will sue them.
He survived the Justice Department inquiry (he says that he didn't have any influence on that but I highly doubt that) and thought it was the last hurdle that he had to overcome and everything from then on would be plain sailing but along came USADA and thank god they did.
Another thing to note is you could still see that he was defiant based on his defence that he has never tested positive. He admitted that his test results from 1999 were positive but retroactively positive having been tested again in 2005 and was happy to admit that he should have been held to account over the positive test of cortisone (that was justified then) but when it comes to an actual positive test at the time (being the 2001 Tour de Switzerland) and implicating both the UCI and the laboratory in its cover up, he simply denies that he tested positive, even though Hamilton, a team mate of his, says otherwise.
Just the same manipulative media bull**** that he has been guilty of for the last 12 years where the majority of people will be happy with these confessions today even though there was a whole lot more that should have come out if he wants to earn forgiveness.

Did anyone watch the whole interview on Discovery Channel on FOXTEL, he didn't seem to give a **** about the people he hurt and then sued because he lied while they were telling the truth the whole time. Should name names IMO of the people he hurt, it would be a long ****ing list.

It was disgraceful that he didn't unreservedly apoligise to the people who he terrorised for years who were speaking the truth. Also I think Andy Schleck's got his head in the sand when he says that he thinks Armstrong was being honest with Oprah...
