Hayden has been diagnosed with fractures in his 2-3 metacarpus (which if you don't know it's of the hand skeleton that is located between the phalanges, which is the bones of the fingers) 2-3 is fractured. From what I have experienced before when I broke my hand, A fracture will take at least 6 to 8 weeks to heal, unless aggravated, then it can take much longer. (He's broken the finger near his Thumb and his rude finger) so usually that's around 6-8 weeks.

Looks likely given he raced for Cardion AB Motoracing earlier this year subbing for Karel Abraham. But that's who's likely to replace him given he's got recent GP experience.

Ok. Stoner has been given the green light to race, But will he? MOTOGP » Casey Stoner to wait on race decision "I looked down and saw my foot was at a strange angle to my leg. I had a shooting pain in my lower leg, then I felt a crack as my ankle popped back in" - Casey Ston Casey Stoner says he is unsure as to whether he will line up on the grid for the Indianapolis Grand Prix after injuring his ankle in an accident during qualifying. Stoner crashed spectacularly within the first ten minutes of the session after high-siding on the exit of turn 13, the Australian proceeding to land heavily on his feet. Taken to the Medical Centre for checks before being transferred to the local hospital for further consultation, Repsol Honda have confirmed Stoner has suffered 'several small chipped bone fractures, a 10mm fracture on the talar dome below the tibia and fibula, contusions to the anterior tibia, posterior tibia and medial malleolus, and soft tissue swelling around the ankle. He has also torn his deltoid, anterior talofibial, calcaneal and fibular ligaments in addition to a high ankle sprain'. Despite the extent of the injuries, Stoner has been given the green light to race if he feels able to, but the man himself admits he is uncertain as to whether he will take the risk. "It's the first time in my career that I haven't been able to get up and walk away from an accident myself,” Stoner, who was still classified sixth on the grid, said. “As soon as I stood up, I looked down and saw my foot was at a strange angle to my leg. I had a shooting pain in my lower leg, then I felt a crack as my ankle popped back in. It was very painful and I was sure I had broken something. “The local staff at the circuit Medical Centre were all very helpful and after taking some initial x-rays they agreed I should go to hospital for further checks. The team that looked after me at the Methodist Hospital were fantastic, so professional, attentive and incredibly helpful, I'd like to thank them all for taking good care of me. “They confirmed that I had some chipped bone around my ankle and a small fracture, but I was concerned about the damage done to any ligaments so we did an MRI scan. This showed that I had torn almost every ligament in my ankle and heavily bruised my tibia. “I need to see how I feel tomorrow morning to understand if I'm able to race. I am really disappointed as I felt we had the package for pole in this race and a strong chance for the win. “Many other riders came off today, I hope they are ok. We'll see how we feel in the morning and will do all we can to be on the grid.” Should Stoner miss the Indy race, he will join Hector Barbera and Nicky Hayden on the sidelines after they also suffered injuries this weekend. He could also be a doubt for the next event at Brno in less than a week's time. Stoner, who will retire at the end of 2012, is already 32-points behind title leader Jorge Lorenzo. Stoner won last year's Indy race en route to his second MotoGP crown. www.crash.net/motogp/news/182949/2/casey_stoner_to_wait_on_race_decision.htmlGod, he's so unselfish to say that he hopes the other riders are ok after the crash he just had, great work Stoner. Hopefully he recovers well and races Tommorow.

Well Stoner WILL race, which is the right decision and great to see. Stoner confirms he will race in Indianapolis Sunday, 19 August 2012 After suffering a variety of fractures to his ankle, tibia and fibula along with torn ligaments due to his spectacular high side crash during qualifying yesterday, Repsol Honda's Casey Stoner has confirmed he will be on the grid for the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix today. Stoner arrived at the track early this morning and was greeted by a team of local doctors from the Circuit Medical Centre. After some initial tests they confirmed that they were satisfied with Casey's movement and mobility and declared him fit to race, if he felt comfortable to do so. The ankle was heavily strapped and supported, and his Alpinestars boot modified to allow Casey to ride in this morning's twenty-minute warm up session. Although painful, the current World Champion reported that he felt comfortable on the bike and would like to take part in the 28-lap race. Local doctors will give him a 60mg Toradol injection an hour before the race to dull the acute pain, along with Aspalgin to help him manage for the 45 minute race. Spies leads Indianapolis warm-up as Stoner is declared fit Sunday, 19 August 2012 Yamaha Factory Racing’s Ben Spies set the fastest time during warm-up for the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix ahead of Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo, as injured Casey Stoner is declared fit for the race. Spies, who also suffered a big crash yesterday, was on top form this morning, putting in a lap faster than his qualifying one. Yet the story of the morning was Repsol Honda Team’s Stoner, who was out on track lapping sixth fastest with a fracture and torn ligaments in his right ankle after a monstrous highside yesterday. He was declared fit by doctors before the morning practice and spent almost all of the session out on track slowly chipping away at his lap time. According to Livio Suppo, HRC’s Communications and Marketing Director, Stoner had only taken some painkilling tablets, foregoing the frequently used injection. The Australian was however wearing a specially constructed boot for his heavily swollen ankle. His teammate and tomorrow’s pole sitter Dani Pedrosa set the second fastest time of the morning, as he hopes to claw back points on Yamaha’s Lorenzo in this afternoon’s race. Lorenzo, who has not looked entirely comfortable at the Brickyard went third quickest, ahead of Monster Yamaha Tech 3 duo Cal Crutchlow and Andrea Dovizioso. Top CRT bike was Power Electronics Aspar’s Aleix Espargaró in tenth. www.motogp.com/en/news/2012/united+states+indianapolis+motogp+wup+spiesRED BULL INDIANAPOLIS GRAND PRIX MotoGP Warm Up Classification 2012 Indianapolis, Sunday, August 19, 2012 Pos. Can Spies have any more worser luck? A Blown engine! Pedrosa was just too good in the end, Lorenzo really struggled to keep pace - but still, Gotta be happy with that. Stoner done a good job also. It was a ride that reminded me of his 250cc days...just dominant from start to finish but it would have been different if Stoner wasn't injured...good ride from Stoner as he must have been in considerable pain...
Unlucky for Spies...sums up his year but I don't think he could have caught Pedrosa.

It must be time for Honda to put all its effort behind Dani.
This could be bad for the remainder of 2012 for CS.

Great effort by Stoner to even front up and ride, And Agree it is probably time for Honda to start backing Pedrosa for the title, It will take Stoner a while to get his full fitness back.

Excellent if they do, because IMO Pedrosa will not be able to keep up with likes of Lorenzo and Stoner (when fully fit). So bring it on!!
Pedrosa is only 18 points behind because of the race where the crash that Lorenzo was taken out cost him BIG points and most likely a win, Lorenzo should be kicking his arse.

The killer for Pedrosa is his consistency...one minute he looks near on impossible to beat, the next he is struggling to make the podium...I would like to think that he is up for a contest just for the sake of keeping this championship wide open but I have my doubts...

Lorenzo will win the Title you watch!!
Pedrosa doesn't know how to get it done, he's been in the game since 2006 and still hasn't won as many races as Lorenzo and still hasn't won a title.

Honda gave Pedrosa a new frame and engine two races ago (CS had the option as well). I can only assume HRC are developing the new components at a faster rate than the older gear, thus the performance level of the Honda 'could' end up greater than the Yamaha.
Is this the year of the Pedrobot?

Yamaha are likely going to get new performance upgrades within the next couple of races.
If you look at the points scored aover the last 4 races - Pedrosa has only scored 1 more point then Lorenzo
Dani Pedrosa has claimed 86 points relative to 85 for Jorge Lorenzo.
So he's going to have to do it the hard way - that's winning! Compare that with the opening four rounds of the season, when Lorenzo outscored Pedrosa by 90 points to 65
