Looks as though this drug debacle that is threatening to engulf the bombers may spread as far as Gold Coast and even Geelong as this health/conditioning trainer caught up in it all Robinson spent time firstly at GC before joining Essendon and also helped out Bomber Thompson at Geelong which is probably how he ended up at Windy Hill. Geelong say they are willing to cooperate and good to see. I hope nothing adverse is found against them. m.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/essendon-engulfed-by-drug-controversy-20130205-2dwmb.html

From what I hear and interviews from Mark McVeigh and Tim Watson, I'm far more confident that we're above board and innocent.
I think what prompted us to go to the AFL is this Dank bloke having been the subject of a police investigation involving things outside the club.
We're definitely not in the clear yet but I'm far more hopeful than I was on tuesday. Was shattered then.

I think what prompted us to go to the AFL is this Dank bloke having been the subject of a police investigation involving things outside the club. We're definitely not in the clear yet but I'm far more hopeful than I was on tuesday. Was shattered then. It will come down to IMO whether ASADA have samples to test from.the Essendon players from last year and whether anything in those samples include any banned substances. Conspiracy alone that this Dank had a hand in the training and nutritional programs for the players, given he has a criminal record, is insufficent to go by to justify a sanction against the team. However, what I do find interesting is that reports allege perhaps a quater of the squad have taken these supplements and if proved and sanctioned, could face up to two years out of the game and then Essendon would struggle to field a team. The thing I'm most worried about is whether this Robinson guy did anything suspect at Geelong while Bomber was coach. It may be me just being overly cautious but you can't help but think how a team like Geelong could sustain their performances for a fourth straight year premiership contending year, presuming Robinson's involvement with the club was in 2010, without perhaps the players receiving something that gave them an unfair advantage. A can of worms is just about to be opened I'm afraid...

Looks like Essendon are a very minor part of a far bigger and disturbing story.

Hope for your club's sake this is only minor, ****ing Caro and Barrett on footy classified are doing there level best to make it huge news? Yeah but they're ****ing parasites of the highest order. Sensationalist ****. At the moment what we are guilty of is hiring a bloke who gave us vitamin injections. The rest is pure speculation. If we're guilty, by all means, throw the book at us. Reimers said we didn't have to inject anything. Carro turns that into we were "forced" to. And they stopped using the words "waiver" after the McVeigh interview. And they have stopped saying players were taken off site for PEDs.

Agree Wrighty, If the test come back negative they have done nothing wrong is my view, Except the process seems a bit suspect, The only good to thing to come out of this is that all clubs, Will need to to get a lot more transparent on this stuff.
Probably playing it safe with the betting Bundy

Big claims tonight from Dank in a 7.30 interview saying Hird knew of the Bombers supplement programs. But I guess it wouldn't be all that unusual for Hird, as the head coach, to know...its just strange as the club has previously strenously denied any knowledge. However, although he admitted that some of the players were taking prescribed supplements, he denied, as he did for his stint at Manly, that those supplements were considered banned and performance enhancing. Interestingly he did mention some of the coaching staff at Essendon were given supplements banned by WADA though... m.couriermail.com.au/sport/all-sports/sports-scientist-stephen-dank-to-sue-over-drug-claims/story-fnduczvk-1226575060123

As unimaginable as it sounds, it is beyond weird to hear that the AFL have already drafted a contingency 2013 fixture featuring only 17 teams - no Essendon

Players aren't guilty at a minimum. If there are issues, it will be support staff that cop it. But from what I'm hearing at the club, they're a bit more confident. It was more the Dank organised crime stuff that led to them going to the AFL. Needless to say, it was good to see the boys get a run last night. Hoping all will be ok. But it's hard to get too excited with this over our heads.

Yeah it's a joke. Either guilty or not. And it's because of stupid AFL rules that rewarded teams for poor performances that caused the problem in the first place.
