Yep finally the real footy is back!
Both teams would be itching to get on the park and do what they do best. Looking forward to see how Josh Jenkins goes in Tippetts old position, Was suprised Sando left young Brad Crouch out, He has shown plenty of promise in the NAB cup, Either way it wont be long before we see him out there.
Haven't seen Essendon's list yet, But look forward to seeing how Goddard goes at his new club.
This game could really go either way, With both clubs got plenty to gain after all the other ****!
Crows by 1 point ;D

I have no idea how we will go tonight. Will be an interesting game. You'd think crows should win though. We have a fairly full squad to choose from though.

****ing sliding rule is crap - what ever happened to being hard at and first at the footy? Now you just hang back and draw a free from the gutsy player that commits himself old skool, particularly in a wet game

Well done to the bombers
I think the crows could have done without Taylor Walker going missing for two quarters.
Dustin Fletcher played well from the back. Very solid.

Crows need more options that just Tex - need a second target so that they are not predictable and the opposition can't just double-team Tex

Yeah the Tippett loss might be quite big.
Having said that I thought a lot of our goals came from crows skill errors with little pressure on them. Stuff like that happens in round 1. Adelaide need to become a better tackling side as well.

All through the preseason we were getting told that the Crows were going to be a better tackling side, Big fail on last nights performance But at this stage I am happy to put this down to first game of the season, Tippett was always going to have an impact, But even if he ws out there last night I dont think it would have mattered, We got smashed in the middle, Which meant there was very little supply to any forwards. Also I think people have under rated how far Essendon will go this year, Most people seem to have them out of the top 8, I dont.

Yep SJ was always missing Monday's game anyway, So it will only be 2 weeks extra missed, Or maybe only one, SJ reckons he can get back in 2 weeks, But I doubt that.
Should be a close one tommorow night, I would tip Carlton just.

I don't like blaming umps, but surely that was Kevin Bartlett officiating at the Punt Rd end that paid those couple of soft 50 metre penalties against Carlton. First one was a shocker, second not much better.
Thought "we" had it when the first of the three amigos was running in to an open goal 5 points down with about a minute to go - and feel for young Bootsma caught holding it at the end there, we had a 2-on-1 and he just had to handball it off but tried to take on the tackle, and that was one hell of a tackle to pin his arm like that - match winning tackle.
Simpson must be doubting the Ned Kelly beard - when the commentators are asking if your current look is a result of a bet (like Tex's and Ivan's mullets), then you know your current look is not that flash.
The haircuts this year take me back to the early to mid 90's - the old private-schoolboy number one on back and sides, longer on top.

I thought Richmond deserved to hold on after coming back from a slow start to the game. There is plenty of potential in the carlton team for the rest of the season though.
