Who cares? We have Rossi that's all that matters! ;D This certainly points a bad picture for Yamaha and Lorenzo fans I'd say Honda will most likely win Australia, Motegi, Aragón, Indianapolis, And maybe more...they have the better bike so it will be intersting how we go, hopefully this doesn't paint a picture on the wall.

It will be interesting to see Rossi back on a proven fast bike to see whether he still has that speed.

I'm sure he does and i think he'll finish top 3 again next year for 8 years in a row with Yamaha. My big question is why does Casey Stoner have to leave now when the MotoGP just got exciting again with the news Rossi will return to Yamaha, I would've loved more battles between Casey and Rossi.

Yeah its a shame that Stoner is hanging up the helmet so early, But MotoGP is far from exciting even this year, It needs to get real and even the field up so that there is more real battles. Like in the WSBC IMO.

What they need is to **** off those CRT bikes, that's for a start...then they need to change alot of rules, one they have with the rookie rule, but there's still alot more to change. But the list goes on and on, I can't waffle on for that long though - ha

But the list goes on and on, I can't waffle on for that long though - ha If they didn't have CRT this year there would only be 12 bikes on the grid. CRT isn't perfect, but at least it is filling the grids abit. What they need is for someone to do what Yamaha did in the early 90s (in 1990/1991 the 500cc grid barely exceeded 15 at alot of rounds) when they sold engines (admittedly not up to factory team specs) to teams, who then mated them to chassis from the likes of ROC. By the mid-90s the grids were huge, with the bottom filled with tonnes of ROC Yamaha's. Honda is supposedly talking about building 'customer' bikes for 2014, will be interesting to see what eventuates

Could it be split up into two classes? A class within a class CRT one side, factory, factory supported satelite the other

Well let me first preface this by saying that there has always been bad blood between Stoner and Rossi, so you can take these comments with a little grain of salt in terms of the monumental task it would be for any rider or engineer to put that bike on the pace... However, I think Stoner is right to point out that Rossi should be humilated for speaking too early about his ability to change the bike into a race-winner but as it has turned out he has failed on that one... and I also think that Stoner has a point that Ducati and their fans should be angry that he has cut and run to the seemingly easier option in Yamaha and not tried another year at Ducati to get the bike on the podium consistently as they do have championship winning pedigree there... At the end of the day, I think Stoner will have the last laugh when Rossi is just another Spies compared to Lorenzo...
Casey Stoner blasts Valentino Rossi over return to Yamaha
AUSTRALIA'S MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner has launched a stinging attack on Valentino Rossi following the Italian icon's move back to Yamaha.
Rossi will saddle up again with Yamaha after a failed campaign with Ducati, on which Stoner won his first world title before switching to Honda.
Stoner has accused Rossi of failing to ride the bike to its limits and castigated the multiple world champion and his Australian crew chief Jeremy Burgess for boasting they could produce a Ducati on which "any rider could win."
"They ate their words from day one," Stoner said.
"Jerry saying that it would take him 80 seconds to fix that bike and that it was a simple issue and now they have had almost two years and have not made any inroads.
"Valentino obviously doesn't want to push limits and ride a bike that is not perfect, he has admitted that.
"Obviously he doesn't want to put the effort in with Ducati.''
In his most recent race Rossi was eighth and 10 seconds behind teammate Nicky Hayden when he crashed out of the US GP.
In his first stint with Yamaha - from 2004 to 2010 - Rossi won 46 races and four world titles.
In a stunning backflip, Rossi is walking away from a reported $A35 million deal at Ducati to take a pay cut to return to Yamaha.
The seven-time world champion failed to win a race on the machine in his 22 months with the team.
Although now with Honda, Stoner remains a hero in the eyes of Ducati fans, having won 23 races and the 2007 world title with the red team.
There have been months of tensions with Rossi citing a lack of development work by Ducati engineers while he has floundered to master the unique style of the bike.
"I just feel completely sorry for Ducati that Valentino has gone there and done nothing, but complain about the bike for almost two years," Stoner said.
"The amount of times that guy has had to eat his words is not funny, but people still forgive him for it."
Rossi will now have to take the backseat behind his rival, Spaniard Jorge Lorenzo.
"Our main investment is in Jorge and he is the No.1 candidate to be champion both this year and next year. He is our No.1 rider,'' said Yamaha MotoGP boss Lin Jarvis

Stoner is going out swingin'.
Not only has he broadsided Valentino, but he's taken a swipe at JB on the way through!

Agree with Stoner, Rossi and his team including JB have failed big time, Rossi is now taking the easy option and going to a proven factory bike, If I was a Ducati supporter I would be very pissed at the money they wasted on there promises.
Hope Lorenzo makes Rossi look slow next year.

Agree with what's been said....Good to see him blast that idiot JB, he was the one who lit fire with fire saying he could change the bike in "80 seconds"

Agree with what's been said....Good to see him blast that idiot JB, he was the one who lit fire with fire saying he could change the bike in "80 seconds" But everyone would admit he did a decent job on the Yamaha first year out with it with Rossi. So on that basis they thought they could perform miracles on getting the Ducati up there despite even Stoner not being able for the three years prior to that, I think they were being a bit too ambitious

To be fair to Rossi and JB, Ducati are quite stubburn in some of their ways, maybe not all of Rossi & JB's requests were changed on the bike.
Stoner is off the leash without having to worry about next years contract, i love it

But the thing is though Bundy, the Ducati is a different animal to the Yamaha of old...when JB and Rossi come over to Yamaha and turned a half decent bike from a podium getter (on it's best days) to a winner consistently...Whereas the Ducati has a habit of "ride me hard yah bastard" style to it that Stoner could only muster, and with JB and Rossi going to Yamaha and being successfull and I congratulate them on that, but saying they could turn a Ducati which not even Stoner could ride most times because of front end issues all the time, they thought they could walk in and prance around and get a magic spanner and fix the Ducati in "80 seconds" - well they ate those words up didn't they, that's why I've not liked JB that much ever since he left Yamaha.

Its an interesting situation.
Has Rossi made a 'harder' call by returning to Yamaha? Surely he could have stayed at Ducati for another year or two making millions of Euro with everyone blaming his machinery. Instead he wants to race the best, wants to challlenge himself.
I gotta say it would have been a great achievement had Rossi won a Cship on the Duc... But not to be.
Rossi is the greatest of his generation and arguably the greatest of all time. Lets enjoy his efforts in 2013 as a 34 year old sticking it to the young guys!
