TBH I think Khawaja will go good over there - his got a pretty solid technique. Hughes still looks all over the place, so he might get found out with the swing and movement off the pitches over there... Is it time to look at S. Marsh again

Then there is the question on Watson, If he does step down from bowling where does he bat?(or can he retain his spot as just a batsman) I would have him back as an opener, But not sure how that would affect Cowan Warner. At least we are going to have a real test against India in India to try some things out before the Ashes.

Not sure about Ferguson as you're not sure about S Marsh He seemed to be the new flavour of the month a couple of years back but has now fallen out of the selectors favour I feel... Watson give up bowling for good Do a Steve Waugh, relatively speaking Waugh still bowled but nowhere near what he did in his youth or do a Mark Waugh and turn spinner ;D It's very hard for a bowler to jump off the horse even if he sees himself as more of a batsmen...

Well done Hussey, Legend of the game!
Surely he'll get a Statue outside of the MCG.

New Zealand all out for 45 vs South Africa. **** me dead That really is shocking. It is the sort of result that makes you think twice about their status as an international cricketing nation. In other news, good to see Binga get off and not reprimanded over his comments about wanting the CEO of CNSW sacked.

This is the full strength Australia ODI team? ? 6/30? May as well let the Good Charlotte brothers have a bat with a KFC bucket on their heads. EDIT: Fark, 7/35. This day-nighter will be finished before the 6:00 news starts. EDIT Again: Oops, just saw the dedicated thread for the ODIs

THe MCC has made a positive change to the cricket laws where, if a bowler strikes the stumps in their bowling action and going through the crease, it is now a no-ball as opposed to being called a dead ball. Batsmen can now hit the ball without fear of getting out. Good for the Aussies for the up-coming Ashes tour as one of the bowlers that does it most is England's Steve Finn. www.cricket365.com/england/story/8514026/MCC-creates-no-ball-law-for-Finn-s-knee

Cricket Australia have announced their 20 contracted players for 2013/2014 - Surprising omissions are Jackson Bird - didn't play the amount of cricket to deserve one but I reckon he will play a crucial role with the ball in England if he is picked to tour And the other one is Steve Smith - not the greatest fan of him but he did play pretty well in India and is part of nearly every expert's touring squad to England. Khawaja is the other one to miss out of the potential big names - he must of continued to upset a few after not giving that presentation before the 3rd Indian test which led him to being sent home I'm happy for Ryan Harris - who didn't play any representative cricket for Australia last year I do believe but put in a good effort for Queensland in the shield cricket to deserve his nod. The players I don't reckon deserve a contract are Doherty and perhaps Johnson. George Bailey (TAS) - 30 Michael Clarke (NSW) - 32 Ed Cowan (TAS) - 30 Patrick Cummins (NSW) - 19 Xavier Doherty (TAS) - 30 James Faulkner (TAS) - 22 Brad Haddin (NSW) - 35 Ryan Harris (QLD) - 33 Ben Hilfenhaus (TAS) - 30 Phillip Hughes (SA) - 24 Mitchell Johnson (WA) - 31 Nathan Lyon (SA) - 25 Glenn Maxwell (VIC) - 24 Clint McKay (VIC) - 30 James Pattinson (VIC) - 22 Peter Siddle (VIC) - 28 Mitchell Starc (NSW) - 23 Matthew Wade (VIC) - 25 David Warner (NSW) - 26 Shane Watson (NSW) - 31 www.couriermail.com.au/sport/cricket/cricket-australia-releases-list-of-contracted-players-for-2013-14-season/story-e6frepmo-1226611711949
