Redding is an interesting one. He has not set the world on fire with results in what was 125 and now Moto2, but it appears he has a lot of talent and is more suited to the larger bike. I would be keen to see him get a ride, even ahead of countryman Bradley Smith who has a contract to ride for Tech3 in MotoGP next year. Well Bradley Smith's case is a curious one...he has this set succession plan that takes him from moto3 right through to motogp but yet you couldn't really say that his results of late really allow him to fulfill that plan...but I think Reading as you say would be suited to the bigger bike in Motogp and would probably do a better job than Smith...

Hope I'm wrong, but Smith could just tie up a good seat for a year which would be a very bad thing for GP.
Seems to me the 'Smith project' was to get a Brit into the main game(probably from a broadcast rights $$$ point of view), however in that time they found Cal and now Redding.
PS: British Superbikes are on this weekend as well, don't miss em!

Expect to see Tech 3 and Smith to take their issues to court, I'd say Smith will sue them, because they won't allow him to race there next year and that's basically meaning "drama" will occur!! Because he's got a contract that says he has to race next year as far as I know in MotoGP, and I'd doubt that will happen, he needs alot more years to craft his skills.

Theres a lot of talk about Nicky Hayden possibly getting dumped from Ducati. If Nicky gets the flick it will be interesting to see where he lands. Possibly one of the most underwhelming World Champions in the history of the sport.......

Possibly one of the most underwhelming World Champions in the history of the sport....... I guess he was lucky to be at Honda at the right time when he won in 06. But I agree, apart from his wins at Laguna, I can't really pinpoint any other performance of his where he has really 'blown your socks off'. I am at a lost too where he will end up as I think his tenure at ducati is over...

Repsol Honda has confirmed that Moto2 rider Marc Marquez will join fellow Spaniard Dani Pedrosa for its assault on the 2013 MotoGP World Championship. Marquez currently leads the Moto2 points standings, and will be drafted into the team to replace the retiring Australian Casey Stoner. Marquez and Pedrosa have both signed two-year deals – extending the latter’s stay at the factory team that began in 2006. Honda’s announcement follows last month’s confirmation from series organisers Dorna that the rule preventing riders from entering the premier class in factory teams would be dropped. Marquez says that signing with Repsol Honda is a dream come true. “To reach MotoGP next season with Repsol Honda is a dream come true and I want to thank HRC for their confidence in me,” said the 19-year-old Spaniard. “I am very proud to be a part of the big Honda family for the future and I don’t want to forget all the people have helped me since I began to ride motorbikes. “Now my focus is on Moto2 where my team and I are working very hard and we are excited to achieve our goal, which is to win the World Championship in 2012.” The announcement ends speculation that Valentino Rossi was a possibility to leave Ducati at the conclusion of the season in favour of a return to his original MotoGP home. Fellow former World Champion Jorge Lorenzo is already confirmed at Yamaha for 2013 having declined an offer from Honda www.speedcafe.com/2012/07/12/repsol-honda-confirms-stoner-replacement/

Both riders' current form justifies their deals...that will make Dani Pedrosa nearly the longest rider to wear the repsol colours if we count his 125cc and 250cc days...over 10 years.

I still feel Honda don't have a championship winner in the Factory line up for 2013, thus leaving room for Rossi at Gresini Honda with Factory equip.

Oh what a surprise, worst rule ever, well it's up there, glad that Marquez is racing...followed him since he was racing in 125cc bikes.
Dani Pedrosa will have his work cut out next year with Marc Marquez joining.
As for Rossi, hopefully he's on a Yamaha, Tech 3 with factory support...can only hope anyways !

HRC are bringing an all new bike to the Mugello test on the Monday after the race, claim this bike will fix the chatter issues encountered by both factory riders. This bike was for release in 2013 but they are fast tracking.

Not surprising to see Lorenzo fastest, he should've been easily on pole for the race.
But Rossi, he must be living a nightmare!
