Be good to see Rossi back competitive. And we do need someone to take it to Lorenzo as after all he can't have it all his own way Yamaha all the way!!!! Lorenzo & Rossi reunite for 2013 and to dominate once again!! I'm exited for next season as is Honda supporters - ? must be shaking in the boots and shitting their pants!

Dovi has come out today saying he believes he has lost the factory slot to Rossi!!! A shame for Dovi as I reckon he is riding the best he has ever done in motogp and arguably would do a better job than Rossi in the factory yamaha ride if we take into account Hayden's dominance over him this year. Didn't see this, as for Dovi I really don't care never liked him, and he's already stated he's off to WSBK if Rossi comes to Yamaha. Cal Crutchlow will replace Rossi I'm hearing, and Bradley Smith is a big shock but they do have a contract with him so it seems they worked it out, and he will replace Cal.

Ben Spies could be lining up to ride the BMW alongside Marco Melandri in the WSBK if Leon Haslam leaves the BMW team. It's a big if, but it's likely.
Also, it's been Rumoured it's a two year deal.

I know its slightly off topic, in a big way, but did you guys see the end of World Superbike race 1 from Silverstone? 3rd & 4th went across the finish line on the ground after parting company with their bikes exiting the last turn.
Yeeha, here come the good ole boyz!

It's official!!!! Ducati and Rossi to part ways at the end of 2012
Friday, 10 August 2012 As the MotoGP™ series awaits its return to action at the Indianapolis Grand Prix on the 19 August, Ducati has announced that its working relationship with Valentino Rossi will conclude at the end of the 2012 World Championship.Ducati wishes the Italian well for the new challenges that await him, and in the meantime, the team will continue to give its best effort in order to improve over the latter part of the season. Racing has always been in Ducati’s DNA, and now more than ever, it is integral to the Borgo Panigale company’s product development and image. AUDI shares Ducati’s strategic approach and agrees with its growing commitment to competition. Therefore, having recently renewed its agreement with American Nicky Hayden, Ducati is in the process of finalizing the team that will take part in the 2013 World Championship, confident that its team and bike will be capable of competing at the highest level. Press release courtesy of Ducati Team. www.motogp.com/en/news/2012/Ducati+Rossi+splitRossi heads back to Yamaha for 2013 on two-year contract
Friday, 10 August 2012 Yamaha Motor Racing has confirmed the signing of Valentino Rossi to ride for the Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP Team for 2013 and 2014.Valentino Rossi first joined Yamaha in 2004 and achieved four MotoGP World Champion titles with the Yamaha YZR-M1 in 2004 & 2005 and again in 2008 & 2009. He won 46 Grand Prix races with Yamaha over a 7-year period before leaving at the end of the 2010 MotoGP season. Rossi, who is presently 8th in the Championship standings, will partner Jorge Lorenzo who currently leads the 2012 MotoGP World Championship by 23 points, having taken five victories from the first ten completed races of the 18 race series. Lin Jarvis, Managing Director, Yamaha Motor Racing "This announcement is once again excellent news for Yamaha. In June we were able to sign Jorge Lorenzo for the 2013-14 campaign and now we are able to confirm Valentino Rossi for the next two years. In doing so we have been able to put together the strongest possible team to challenge for victories and to promote the Yamaha brand.
We have run this ‘super team’ together in 2008, 2009 and 2010 and during that time we achieved the ‘triple crown’ titles with Rider, Manufacturer and Team World Championship victories for three consecutive years.
The target for the future is obvious and we will do our utmost to achieve our goals.
I have no doubt that with the experience, knowledge, skills and speed of these two great champion riders we will be able to challenge for many race wins and for the 2013 & 2014 World Championship titles.
The signing of Valentino completes our future planning for the Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP Team. Now that this is done we will put our 100% efforts into completing the job at hand and to supporting Ben Spies and Jorge Lorenzo in their search for race victories and for Jorge’s 2012 World Championship title challenge." Press release courtesy of Yamaha Factory Racing. www.motogp.com/en/news/2012/Rossi+back+to+YamahaHeck yeah I'm so happy to have Valentino back in the Yamaha family, welcome back #46! Bring on next year!

Interesting to see if he brings JB and the rest of his crew over as well.
Also, who will be the naming right sponsor?

I would be almost certain JB and crew would go with Rossi, Unless JB decides to retire, IIRC his wife was having some health issues last year, Which may impact his decision.

Monster has been rumored, but so has Malboro and Coca-Cola...plus others, but I'm thinking it'll be Monster as they want to rival Red Bull and with Rossi coming onboard that would boost the image more in Moto GP, so hopefully Monster sponser both factory Yamaha's and that will be the first time they have had a Major Title Sponsor since 2010.

I think that is terrific news that Rossi is re-joining Yamaha. However, I think the unresolved questions that have yet to play out are: whether he will be the same rider when he left there in 2010? And whether he can work with Lorenzo or whether the team will be split up in two like it was back when they were team-mates
