I know it is Crikey. But if he didn't win last year, then would we hold him in high esteem as some other riders? I think not, he's been there or there abouts but just didn't crack the last bit open to win until last year, but he's a Tour De France winner, so he's a winner in my eyes, but I just feel that he maybe missed out on a few more if he retires.

Probably confirms what we all expected Frank Schleck's b sample was positive too...Now we just have to wait and learn what his punishment is... www.cyclingnews.com/news/frank-schleck-doping-positive-confirmed
Tonight's penultimate stage is the Individual Time Trial...Wiggins should win it pretty easy...Cadel is 6 mins and some change behind Wiggins and has a chance to move up past his team-mate Van Garderen as he is only 1 and half minutes behind him. But I would be surprised if Van Garderen actually pulls a gap on Cadel...

Cadel had a absolute shocker, I'd like to know what is this guys exuse, it's pretty shocking to see a defending winner go out like this, it's horrible and this is his best!?
52nd wasn't it? What's going on? This is supposed to be his pet event/time trial.

Yep but as we have seen before with Cadel (can't remember the year/s) if he is out of contention or just doesn't have the motivation, he won't try to perform well in the ITT. Hopefully, his excuse is that he is just saving himself for the Olympics.
Same for Mick Rogers, an Australian champion in the ITT, he put in the same poor performance as Cadel did as well. But I guess his job at the tour was to look after Wiggins and look after he did exceptionally well, so maybe he wasn't all that concerned with his OP come the end of the tour. But he does have the Olympics as well to prepare for which I might add is on Sunday next week the road cycling gold medal race...
Richie Porte put in a sensational effort to bring his bike home in 5th. A real GC contender in the future. Well done.

Hopefully that is the case, because it doesn't look good for his chances at the Olympics, it's only getting worse as the tour goes on.

Hopefully that is the case, because it doesn't look good for his chances at the Olympics, it's only getting worse as the tour goes on. I think he is better than what he showed. I ended up not watching it as I thought that Cadel wouldn't give it his all...and low and behold that's what happened. Overall positions will look like this at the end of the race (given that there is an unwritten agreement between riders not to race to find time on the final stage) 1 Bradley Wiggins (GBr) Sky Procycling 84:26:31 2 Christopher Froome (GBr) Sky Procycling 0:03:21 3 Vincenzo Nibali (Ita) Liquigas-Cannondale 0:06:19 4 Jurgen Van Den Broeck (Bel) Lotto Belisol Team 0:10:15 5 Tejay van Garderen (USA) BMC Racing Team 0:11:04 6 Haimar Zubeldia Agirre (Spa) RadioShack-Nissan 0:15:43 7 Cadel Evans (Aus) BMC Racing Team 0:15:51 8 Pierre Rolland (Fra) Team Europcar 0:16:31 9 Janez Brajkovic (Slo) Astana Pro Team 0:16:38 10 Thibaut Pinot (Fra) FDJ-Big Mat 0:17:17 Aussies23 Michael Rogers (Aus) Sky Procycling 0:54:52 34 Richie Porte (Aus) Sky Procycling 1:20:49 80 Simon Gerrans (Aus) Orica GreenEdge Cycling Team 2:24:35 81 Adam Hansen (Aus) Lotto Belisol Team 2:24:54 97 Stuart O'Grady (Aus) Orica GreenEdge Cycling Team 2:49:43 120 Matthew Harley Goss (Aus) Orica GreenEdge Cycling Team 3:07:04 137 Jonathan Cantwell (Aus) Team Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank 3:25:13

Great win by Wiggins this year, He deseved it and will be a force for the UK in the Olympics.
Cavendish proved again why he is rated the worlds best sprinter in Paris last night, Another one to watch in the Olympics.

Yeah top effort from Wiggins. He was really the stand-out rider. But he couldn't have done it without his team...probably the one champion to rely on his team the most to win... Heard on the news this morning that Cadel is giving himself like 3 days to prove his fitness for the road racing gold medal, if he doesn't ride I hope Richie Porte gets his spot
