eni Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland *spoilers* Circuit infoLength: 3.671 m. / 2,281 miles Width: 12m Left corners: 10 Right corners: 3 Longest straight: 700 m. / 0,435 miles Constructed: 1996 Modified: 2003 IntroductionCar and bike races have been held on closed public roads in the area around the town of Chemnitz, Germany since the 1920s and were still taking place until as recently as 1990. It was decided, however, that the five mile course through such a densely populated area was no longer suitable and a new circuit was built five miles west of Chemnitz in 1996. Although mainly used as a driver training centre and road transport safety station, Sachsenring first hosted MotoGP in 1998 and many improvements have taken place since then, including a drastic layout enhancement in 2001. Numerous tight corners make it one of the slower tracks on the calendar but there is never any shortage of close racing action www.motogp.com/en/events/Germany/2012 Track Records MotoGP Fastest Lap 2008 Casey STONER (AUS) Ducati 1'21.067 163.0 km/h Circuit Record 2011 Dani PEDROSA (SPA) Honda 1'21.846 161.5 km/h Best Pole 2008 Casey STONER (AUS) Ducati 1'21.067 163.0 km/h Top Speed 2004 Troy BAYLISS (AUS) Ducati 290.9 km/h Drivers' Championship Standings 1 Jorge Lorenzo Yamaha 140 2 Casey Stoner Honda 140 3 Dani Pedrosa Honda 121 4 Cal Crutchlow Yamaha 77 5 Andrea Dovizioso Yamaha 76 6 Valentino Rossi Ducati 61 7 Nicky Hayden Ducati 59 8 Álvaro Bautista Honda 58 9 Stefan Bradl Honda 51 10 Ben Spies Yamaha 48 11 Héctor Barberá Ducati 46 12 Aleix Espargaró ART 20 13 Randy de Puniet ART 19 14 Michele Pirro FTR 16 15 Mattia Pasini ART 12 16 James Ellison ART 9 = Danilo Petrucci Ioda 9 18 Iván Silva BQR-FTR 5 19 Yonny Hernández BQR-FTR 4 = Karel Abraham Ducati 4 = Colin Edwards Suter 4 Manufacturers' Championship Standings1 Yamaha 156 2 Honda 151 3 Ducati 75 4 ART 32 5 FTR 16 6 Ioda 9 7 BQR 7 8 Suter 4 9 BQR-FTR 2

Lorenzo will struggle, he's not being able to tip it into the corner like he would usually, he just can't manage to put his leg down because of the injury.

He should be alright over one or two lap stints like for qualifying but for the long runs like in the race than you will probably see the difference - wonder if Pedrosa can actually take it to Stoner and not drift away like he usually does?

Pedrosa leads rain-hit second free practice in Germany Friday, 6 July 2012 In a wet second free practice at the eni Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland at the Sachsenring it was Repsol Honda Team’s Dani Pedrosa who coped best with the conditions to finish top ahead of local favourite Stefan Bradl and Jorge Lorenzo. A torrential downpour just before the session was about to start, saw riders head out gingerly ten minutes into the practice on full wet tyres to test the German circuit. A few minutes later the majority of riders had headed out onto the track to dial in their wet weather race set-up. Yet it was a frantic final few minutes as some spots of sun had created numerous dry patches, and riders were swapping places at the front frequently. In the end it was Pedrosa who just narrowly denied LCR Honda MotoGP’s Bradl a top finish at his home round by a mere seven hundredths of a second. Nonetheless, the German rookie will take heart from the fact that he ousted Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jorge Lorenzo into third, and Pedrosa’s teammate Stoner into fifth. Making full use of the wet conditions was Ducati Team’s Valentino Rossi, who was just over three tenths off the top. He finished ahead of his teammate Nicky Hayden, who looked equally at ease on the soaking German track. The Monster Yamaha Tech 3 duo of Cal Crutchlow and Andrea Dovizioso did not finish quite as well as in the morning, coming in seventh and eighth respectively. Lorenzo’s teammate ended a subdued day down in ninth, just ahead of Pramac Racing Team’s Héctor Barberá. Top CRT went to British rider James Ellison, on board his Paul Bird Motorsport ART machine. Fortunately no riders crashed in the session, however Avintia Blusens’ Iván Silva had a few big wobbles aboard his BQR-FTR machine in the latter stages. www.motogp.com/en/news/2012/germany+sachsenring+motogp+fp2+pedrosaeni MOTORRAD GRAND PRIX DEUTSCHLAND MotoGP Free Practice Nr. 2 Classification 2012Sachsenring, Friday, July 06, 2012 Pos. CRT 1-2!! Don't get too excited as I was getting as it was only achieved because it was done on a drying track...Stoner and Lorenzo chose to sit out the session and instead opted for their team-mates to go out and do the data-collection leg work for them. In yet another wet qualifying session, Stoner came from the clouds to take pole. Spies 2nd, Pedrosa 3rd. Good job Bradl as well would have taken pole if it kept raining...

Honda have won, but who? Stoner will struggle to hold off Pedrosa IMO. FFS that last result for Jorge has ****** up the year for us if Honda have their bike fixed to rails!!!

Not a chance IMO, Pedrosa will hopefully win, for the championship to not be affected that much, or even better they take each other out!! Haha, like that would happen, ie Lorenzo and Rossi (team-mates)
