Maybe they should take the clown that secretly recorded it to task!

I must say the double standards of the Labor party are obscene to have backed Slipper during that entire period where he faced damning allegations of inappropriate dealings with his former staffer and to now rely on his vote in the crossbenches having stood down as Speaker to stay in power as government compared to calling into question what I regard to be baseless assertions of Abbott degrading women...but I mean as always with the Labor party, whatever it takes to stay in power they will do...

I read elsewhere that there is some criticism of the unemployment rate lifting in Queensland...I don't welcome it nor at the same time do I join in the condemnation of why the figure is what it is and its potential to get worse in the near future...
thanks to inheriting 60 billion dollars worth of debt which I might have it a guess is nearly as much as all the States combined...tough decisions have to be made being spending and public sector job cuts as the alternative is just to apply more taxes and to do so is the least efficient method out of the two...because if we don't do anything about the debt level we can just say goodbye to another 5 billion a year that we will spend on interest payments...
so, as Howard did when he took the reigns in 1996 and made some tough but necessary changes to the economy including vital industrial relations change, so has Newman and like Howard, he will hope to see the fruits of those changes within his next term of government if he is fortunate enough to be re-elected.

In relation to the slipper affair and his case being thrown out of the Federal Court, that's a shame that that occured as ultimately I can see the appeal succeeding as the behaviour was deplorable and should be treated as such even considering whether there were any political motivations for pursuing the law suit.
It's interesting anyway that the judge in the case threw it out because of political motivations on the part of Ashby when arguably the judge is doing the same as the effect of his decision gives a positive political boost to the government.

Atm, there is a huge push in the Courier Mail for Rudd to become PM again. The like I haven't seen since 2007!

I wouldn't be surprised if he calls an early election for August instead of September. Latest poll in the Herald Sun has labor clawing back ground to sit at 52-48 in favour of Abbott.
