Not the best result for Jimmie but halves the points lead by 7 points to Brad K. Bowyer wins at Charlotte: #15-Clint Bowyer won the Bank of America 500 Sprint Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway for his 3rd win of year and 8th career win. #11-Hamlin finished 2nd followed by #48-Johnson, #16-Biffle, #18-Busch, #55-Martin, #99-Edwards, #5-Kahne, #20-Logano and #56-Truex Jr.. #2-Keselowski led the most laps and was leading when he waited too long to pit and ran out of fuel, but finished 11th and maintain the points lead, 7 points over #48-Johnson. Bowyer was able to run longer on fuel and held on to win the race, his first on a mile and a half track. There were only 6 cars on the lead lap. Regan Smith, subbing for Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the #88 Chevy, lost an engine on lap 61 and finished 38th. Kurt Smith finished 21st in his first race in the #78 Furniture Row Chevy. #51-A.J. Allmendinger finished 24th in his first race back from his suspension. There were 5 cautions for 23 yellow flag laps. There were 20 lead changes among 8 drivers. The average speed was 154.935mph. The estimated attendence was 100,000, down from 105,000 last October.
