So Mark Webber has come out and basically bagged our way of living in Australia saying that we are too dependant and obsessed with having a flutter, citing the Melbourne Cup where Australians are expected to spend millions on having a bet. So what do you think are we too gambling obsessed in this country? You can basically bet on any sport in this country and with the betting agencies running ads in every ad break, now more than ever, are we being persuaded to put down some money. Not to mention the ease of which bets can be made with the advent of mobile internet betting, phone betting, etc... I am a big believer in individual responsibility. Bet with your head, not over your head, within your means etc...and we should be allowed a day or two a year to splurge if we so wish and Melbourne Cup day on Tuesday just happens to be, so I say happy punting! www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/more-sport/mark-webber-slams-melbourne-cup-and-australias-gambling-obsession-get-your-sports-fix/story-fnducgor-1226509929154

Webber took a few gambles at Yas Marina that didn't pay off!
But I can see his point, there are a lot of gambling ads on the TV and radio these days. Doesn't make me want to gamble though, about the only thing I bet on is the Melbourne Cup and the Lotto (it's a form of gambling IMO).
