Woops! My bad forgot to put factory bike, he can ride in Moto GP, but not on a factory bike, sorry for making you get confused, lol. So when I said he can replace stoner, he can't because he's not a contracted rider, which prevents them from racing in a Factory Moto GP team..no wonder you were confused, late night last night that's why, haha. But just for my understanding HDT...take Spies for example...how come he could just walk straight into a factory Yamaha ride? Is it because he was racing for Yamaha in the US? To refer back to Marquez, if he gets picked up by Honda as a contracted rider for the rest of the year, does that count in an effort for him to ride for Repsol Honda next year in motogp? In all likelihood, he will probably ride for 'playboy' honda (I mean LCR, haha) and Bradl or even Bautista will step up while Marquez is given more experience in a lesser bike... Spies didn't remember, he raced for Superbikes then come over to Tech 3 Monster Yamaha, iirc, they had to get a replacement remember for Rossi (Test rider) when he broke his leg, Spies was then considered a rookie, even though he raced as a wildcard the year before, But Iirc the wildcard doesn't count towards it. and also the rules state you need 9 races under your belt, he didn't which makes him not allowed to replace Rossi. No, same thing as with Spies it has to be in Moto GP, Suzuki you could get away with it...so that's why Alvaro Bautista got a ride. Which was a factory ride. Marc Marquez will have to go to LCR or another sattelite team for his first year then he's allowed to race at a factory team after a season. Same thing happened with Simoncelli iirc.

I hope it does because it doesn't to me, haha. It's a weird rule.
The rule was introduced in 2010 so that manufacturers would place rookies with a possible future at the satellite teams, giving the satellite teams more tv coverage and a better overall package....it's just an exuse for the domination of the top teams IMO but it's reaping it's rewards now with Tech 3 monster Yamaha going strong.

Tech 3 is an exciting team to watch. I'm sure Honda is considering offering Crutchlow a ride. The commentators are speaking rather highly of him.

Think you'll find Cal won't be leaving Yamaha...I am pretty sure he's still contracted to Yamaha

If Lorenzo goes to Honda though I feel the sport would become a little less exciting. For the sake of the sport I think it's better if Lorenzo stays at Yamaha.

Well someone needs to replace Lorenzo who is equally as good as him to keep the Yamaha/Honda dice as competitive as possible and atm without Stoner, Lorenzo is the class of the field. So I can see the 2013 title over and done with by the mid-point of next year!

So do I, so do I!! I'm pretty confident he'll stay, but Repsol is a Spanish oil company so I'm worried a little, with Lorenzo being Spanish I think as-long as Yamaha have a good season this year, he'll re-sign again, with Yamaha.

I hope someone steps up next year otherwise Lorenzo will just walk away with it. A good battle is always better than domination.

He could certainly do that...but I am sort of thinking along the lines of that he might do that for 2014 with 2013 to be an entire year off.

I think at the moment Stoner wouldn't do it next year, But if the right offer was made before PI next year he may jump at it.

Stoner will race at PI in 2013 mark my words I've said it all along. Honda will give him the tools, but I'd love if Yamaha would do it, but they have 4 bikes and that's it!
