The rep footy season starts this weekend.
I hope Adam Reynolds plays a blinder for City and gets into serious contention for the Blues no. 7. But I fear the selectors have already given the nod to Pearce who is hopeless; no matter the sort of performance that Reynolds puts in for City.
Picks: Australia, Country

NSW origin team announced. 3 new faces - Maloney, Fifita and Ferguson. Donk your worst nightmares have come true that they picked Gidley whilst no game for Merritt either. I can't see NSW winning a game. www.skynews.com.au/sport/article.aspx?id=875220 NSW State of Origin team: 1. Jarryd Hayne (Eels) 2. Blake Ferguson (Raiders) 3. Michael Jennings (Roosters) 4. Josh Morris (Bulldogs) 5. Brett Morris (Dragons) 6. James Maloney (Roosters) 7. Mitchell Pearce (Roosters) 8. James Tamou (Cowboys) 9. Robbie Farah (Tigers) 10.Paul Gallen (Sharks, capt) 11. Luke Lewis (Sharks) 12. Ryan Hoffman (Storm) 13. Greg Bird (Titans) Interchange: 14. Kurt Gidley (Knights) 15. Anthony Watmough (Manly) 16. Andrew Fifita (Sharks) 17. Trent Merrin (Dragons) I'm still struggling to find how Gidley got selected ;D I guess this will be another series that you won't bother to watch donk Read more: www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/state-of-origin/maloney-named-in-nsw-origin-squad-20130526-2n53m.html#ixzz2UO8CgnxO

I'm ashamed to call myself a queenslander after that performance I'm hoping the selectors choose form over incumbency for the second game - Inglis to fullback, slater to the wing (tate to the centres) and cherry evans to half and cronk to the bench. Smith could do with the break anyway as his defence was pitiful tonight

Tamou out of game two - I have to say I agree with Sterlo that Tamou's punishment of two games only is not enough and sets a very dangerous precedent considering how much he was over.
What if another player blows .06, does that mean they only get a week or worse just a reprimand?

Queensland side for origin 2
Billy Slater Melbourne Storm Darius Boyd Newcastle Knights Greg Inglis South Sydney Rabbitohs Justin Hodges Brisbane Broncos Brent Tate North Queensland Cowboys Johnathan Thurston North Queensland Cowboys Cooper Cronk Melbourne Storm Matt Scott North Queensland Cowboys Cameron Smith (c) Melbourne Storm Nate Myles Gold Coast Titans Chris McQueen South Sydney Rabbitohs Sam Thaiday Brisbane Broncos Corey Parker Brisbane Broncos Daly Cherry-Evans Manly Sea Eagles Ben Te’o South Sydney Rabbitohs Matt Gillett Brisbane Broncos Josh Papalii Canberra Raiders
Much better team - perhaps the only change I would make are the Souths players. I would have McQueen on the bench as he's more versatile and put Te'o in the run-on side.

As much as I like seeing Queensland winning, it is tough to see Merritt playing himself out of a future blues jersey.
Poor reads in defence twice, the thing all NSW blues fans were afraid of when his name was up for selection. I reckon he came up in defence early thinking GI is going to get the ball but Queensland have called Merritt's bluff and passed it str to Boyd.

Roosters' players should be blamed for NSW going in behind at half time - Pearce, Maloney and Jennings all terrible games so far.
Farah equally should be blamed for missing that easy tackle on Thurston for the first try.
Come on QUEENSLAND!

Well done Queensland! ;D ;D ;D
Haha...the streaker ended up ruining NSW chances rather than helping them!
