Was lucky enough to score a short test drive of a Gen F GTS at Penrith Holden and all I can say is MY LORD.... That is without doubt the most stunning thing I have ever driven.
First impression is that it is bank vault quiet. A mate has a new E class Merc and honstly the GTS felt quieter and the interior looks 20 years newer than my 18 month old R8.
The heads up display is awesome and so natural that I'd be surprised if it's not in most cars within 10 years.
But the big news is that LSA engine. I really do struggle for words as to what a sledge hammer this thing is.
Keeping in mind my drive was probably only 5 k's and it was around the back streets near the dealer but it's acceleration is frightening. I couldn't stop laughing and shaking my head.
I actually felt my face pull back as I accelerated and thats never happened to my in a car before. I've been in M3's and a 2010 C63 and honestly and this is totally subjective, the GTS felt miles quicker.
I can't wait to read the performance figures for this thing but if as is rumoured it can do a 4 second flat zero to 100 and low 12 quarter I would not be surprised.
Boys and girls short of a Porsche Turbo or Nissan GTR, this is as fast as you are ever likely to go in a standard road car.
STUNNING, is the only word that describes this thing.
Start saving your dollars and if you cant afford a ne one, keep your eyes on the used car market once they start to appear because every other performance car ever made in Australia now looks and is soft and slow....
