Hard to split really:
Depends where you were born and bred.
NSW and QLD are strong NRL areas so I expect most of them to like Rugby League.
Just like VIC, SA and WA are strong AFL areas so I expect most of them to like AFL.
Being from NSW its' NRL for me because it's just an overall better game!

Well I am born and bred in Queensland and by right should be following league and even the Broncos excusively but I have had certain influences on who I should follow and that has dictated both a Souths and Geelong following...but if it came down to a life or death situation and I had to choose between the two, it would probably be league...sorry Crikey, hust support Souths too much.

Who is to say it is a better game than AFL. NRL is just better to me because its what I have grown up with and I struggle to understand AFL as well. And to be honest I have been preferring to watch the English Premier League and A-League soccer over recent times as I am becoming a little disillusioned with the way the NRL and it's rules are heading. One thing about soccer is they don't screw with the rules. One ref, two linesman, they control the game and that's it!

When they go back to one ref, get rid of who touched what when it was in the air, the ridiculous stripping penalty, the constant forward passes, the ridiculous of the chest head highs and so on, and put the onus back on the man in the middle a bit more instead o reviewing every piece of mouse poo about the game it will go back to being Rugby League.

Always enjoyed watching those old Aussie Rules 'flashback' games - wished channel 9 would do the same for the old league games although it seems that this is Foxtel's domain.

So does that mean you are now an AFL supporter Donk? Only watch the Finals! Especially when who's left in the NRL sucks! Mind you, like I said, they were both value games! But I wouldn't watch weekly club AFL as I wouldn't want it to take away from what i witnessed on the weekend! Even my Dad enjoyed it! And he's as NRL as they come!
