The boss of Holden has made an interesting plea to the Liberal Party asking them to come on board the financial assistance grant giving program to the auto industry. It has been the Labor Party who have really championed the policy to publicly fund the ailing auto industry to boost its competitiveness despite, in the long-term, this policy being arguably largely inefficient. It's understandable from a political point of view why Labor have gone into bat for Holden (and Ford for that matter) which is to protect the jobs of workers. Whilst I am an unashamed supporter of Holden, I am equally as passionate about the need to spend resources and the public purse wisely, so I am with the Liberal Party on this one and sadly if it means the end of Holden locally manufacuring here in this country, then so be it. smh.drive.com.au/motor-news/car-manufacturing-future-depends-on-election-says-holden-boss-20121127-2a4t2.html
