Going to be weird having two Ashes series within 6 months of each other. England were meant to host us mid last year (2012), but they were busy with the 5-ring circus. So the series to be held in England was pushed back a year, and we now have the English series middle of this year (our winter, their summer) and then the Australian series still goes ahead in our 2013/14 summer. So if we drop the away series we only have to wait a few months for a chance to take the urn back at home - and we can fill the time between the two series watching Carlton storm to a premiership (we're still coming - its just that we started from a long way away)

First decision from Boof: Shane Watson to open the batting again. Not sure whether I like the move as he may be found against the new ball in English conditions. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/23071922

I reckon Boof is going to be good - play players where they play their best, back them and give them more than one or two innings to succeed.
Wouldn't be surprised if we see less 'rotations' - best team picked for each match and associated conditions.
Back to basics, no bull**** approach, with no bull****, primadonnas or divas tolerated - team before player. Unite or **** off ultimatum.
Yes, I'm drinking and Carlton is losing.
EDIT: Hey Bundy, I found another one where something as ****, as a shitty, comma doges the ****, censor ;D

Watson has already started to deliver the faith boof has put in him to open by scoring 90 against Somerset.

Boof has wiped the slate clean with Warner and is willing to give him another go. This means he probably will open with him in the first test.
So, with Watson already certain of one of the opening positions and presuming Warner opens - that leaves Cowan out in the cold I reckon with him being a specalist opener. That said, it has been reported that the next tour game that starts tomorrow I think is a showdown between Cowan and Khawaja for the last batting position.
My team goes like this based on what's been reported and my gut feel:
1. Watson 2. Warner 3. Rogers 4. Hughes 5. Clarke 6. Khawaja 7. Haddin 8. Starc 9. Harris 10. Lyon 11. Pattinson

Clarkey scored a much needed century in last night's tour game.
With Cowan, Smith, Khawaja and Hughes all scoring half-centuries with Davey Warner back from suspension and in contention still, the batting line-up will be a tough choice for boof...

Anyone got any tips on who they think will win this first Test? I'm going the Poms because we suck But hoping to be wrong.

I'll unfortunately say the poms too. I reckon it will take us at least 1 test to fully get into the series - so perhaps a 5-6 wicket win with the Aussies batting first ??

England will bat first but there is a couple of unexpected selections - Steve Smith to bat 6th selected ahead of Warner for fear of not enough practice in the middle - probably fair enough as he has been scoring runs and Ashton Agar in for Nathan Lyon - again I don't mind the call as he probably offers some extra variation. Be interesting to see how it goes...

Awesome stuff - Pattinson takes the wicket of the England captain Cook ;D
Haha just about to lay into Siddle about how **** he was bowling he then comes on from the other end and gets the wicket of Root! ;D

I got to say although Siddle and Pattinson have got the wickets, they have also bowled a lot of ****.
I better keep criticising Siddle as everytime I do or am about to we get another English wicket - Trott gone ;D

Great effort to bowl out England for a bit over 200 but again our batting proves to be our weakness. Lucky that Pattinson hit Broad in the shoulder when Broad was batting so they are a bowler down for the moment but as I say this we lose Clarkey ..oh **** Rogers LB was an extremely poor decision. Bowler is going around the wicket and the referral shows it's just clipping leg (which is quite generous to begin with) - WTF!
