Okay a new year is here so we better discuss all thing's AFL in here. Hopefully this year the media only has to report on footy and none of the other stuff that has been going on the last couple of years. Good luck for all your sides unless you play the mighty Crows

Good luck for all your sides unless you play the mighty Crows Well that rules the cats out first round then! ;D TBH - talking about the cats I'm quite happy with what they've done with the retirements and letting go off the older players to rejuvenate the squad. Keeps us in the shout for the finals for years to come

It is an interesting argument that I mainly hear in the article that because the crows were established (prior to Port joining the AFL) to represent all the AFL clubs in SA that they deserve to be able to don the SA jumper. But similarly one of those clubs that they were meant to represent at the time they were born in the AFL was Port and now that Port are in the league it just doesn't seem right to me that the crows can represent the state in a game against a team that "made up" the state, if you get what I mean??

Good to have another perspective Bundy. The Adelaide Crows was formed BEFORE any other side in SA was formed, It was formed as the side for all South Australians, What the Crows management was doing was 100% correct and got signed off on by the SANFL and the AFL, Until they got scared by Koch and his merry band of feckwits, Back in 1997 West Coast who were first to form in WA wore there State Guernsey with no problem what so ever, Also Port who has the same prison bar Guernsey(in the SANFL its heritage) as Collingwood, Have twice worn there Guernsey to represent there heritage, Even though Eddie had said they would never wear it while he was alive. Also if you look at Port's Guernsey now(in the AFL) it is exactly the same as the one we were going to wear except in their colours. This all comes down to Port being pissed that we would have stolen their thunder on the first game at the new ground at Adelaide oval, Pity our management are a bunch of soft cocks and buckled under pressure, If It was me I would have done an Eddie M and told them to get fecked that is what we are wearing!

I see your point. Perhaps I should have taken the standard Port response which is to dismiss or not rely on anything they say or represent. History is there for all to see and maybe Port would be doing AFL footy in SA a big favour by allowing the crows to wear the SA jumper.

So long as we get the 4 points in round 2 against them, Then all will be good, Also round 1 against your mob would be cool Not asking for to much is it

Always the way with preseason your team suffers a big injury with smedts' jaw. What about chances for the flag anyone? I hear Sydney will be hard to beat

I hear Sydney will be hard to beat Tough luck with Smedts, Might make it a bit easier for your round one opponents Still it was good to have a first up win against Collingwood I suppose. Flag chance would be Sydney, Hawks, Freo at this stage I would imagine. Edit, Now another one has hit the deck for 12 weeks, Maybe there luck is running out? www.geelongcats.com.au/news/2014-02-14/christensen-undergoes-operation

It's a blow but I think his loss can be covered. Bit of an early look into what round 2 has in stall with the local derby tomorrow between Crows and port

It is. Our ruck depth is already under the pump. It was tested to a large degree last season with McIntosh missing the season and Vardy not playing a large portion of the games and when one considers that the area that Geelong struggled most was in the hit-outs to advantage from stoppages this pretty much seals our fate as an area that we will again be behind most teams in.

Daisy in for his first game for Carlton and the pods playing for the crows - makes for an interesting game. 2 points in it atm. I reckon the crows will win.
