As the title says, while I think congratulations are in order for V8s for reaching out to the Geelong City Council and Geelong in general in their time of need (not football related but closures of Ford, Shell, Alcoa etc ), the chances of this gaining traction with the proposal's reliance on state government funding is very slim. Potentially, the Victorian government could save some money in the future fees it pays F1 given that they are ludicrously high atm as I understand that they are currently in negotiations. But then again the Victorian government might think that they are already doing enough with funding I presume set aside for 3 rounds of the championship (Winton, Sandown and PI) and the arguable indirect funding to the non-championship round at the F1 event. Great idea just not very realistic www.v8xmagazine.com.au/index.php/news-rss-feed/1276-geelong-pushing-for-street-circuit-event
