Bit closer than I would have liked. Good move from Scott to push Bartel and Kelly into the midfield while utilising Selwood up front. I thought the Cats had that game covered after the first quarter, It was a good come back by the North Melbourne to get it to with in 15 late in the last, But they had spent to much to get back that close. Yep good move by the coach to put Bartel and Kelly in the midfield, That just proves how much depth Geelong have, Imagine if Stevie J was there? I thought it was great also just to see how easily our defence stood up without Bartel or Kelly back there, although North don't have the most imposing forwards line up. Tommy Hawkins is looking very farking dangerous this year, He is great to watch and can rip teams apart, One mark he took in the last that was not paid was really annoying, Absolute beast. Genuine coleman chance!

Is the pain over yet? 12 minutes Bundy This is what happens when a team gets more salary cap than the rest of the competition.

Not so sure after the demons performance on the weekend! Actually strange weekend of results - Lions winning....Crows winning However, thanks to the Crows winning it has given me the motivation to go to the suns/cats game in a couple of weeks time because I was seriously doubting myself whether I would go

Lion's winning Couldn't believe it. That Suns V Geelong game will be tighter than I thought at the start of the year, Having watched the Suns on the weekend they look dangerous and they were missing 2 from there best 22.You may get rolled.

I think judging by our performance against the Swans - we probably will At least you should win this week against Carlton, I saw them first hand at the MCG 2 weeks ago and they were not good, Sadly my mob was even worse! I was thinking the other day, Which in itself is rare, Is Geelong travelling Interstate more this year than previous years? They have been to Adl, Perth, Syd, and you said Queensland in 2 weeks, That seems high for some reason.

The administrators have to do something to slow the cats down - can't have a team keep competing for the top 4 getting up towards 10 years in a row The game of the round is probably suns v swans but I wouldn't put it past the demons on Monday to cause an upset against the pies. Certainly hoping for one anyway!

I reckon Collingwood will beat Melbourne by a lot on Monday, They have Swann, Ball and another one that escapes me at the moment coming back, Also with Melbourne coming back from Alice Springs I think it will be a tall order, If I am wrong and Melbourne push Collingwood it would be a mighty effort and justifies Paul Roos huge salary.( Actually Roos has probably already justified his huge wage already) Half season prediction would be a Port/Swans G/F, Hawks have got a lot of injuries and a coach that is on sick leave for a long period, They would still be a smokey to get to the last day.

Cats got lucky in that one Bundy, There was a obvious free kick to Troy Menzel with 15 seconds to go 5 metres in front of goal that the umps missed, Win some lose some, It is those type of wins that make the difference at the end of the year.

Was that the one that could have been either high or in the back? I was thinking 'please don't make that call' - it was probably there but when it is the last minute or so you hate to lose a game from one of those calls. Not real happy with their performance - certainly not a top 4 team anymore

The Boss of the umpires has come out today and admitted it was a free, Like I said you win some lose some. www.afl.com.au/news/2014-06-07/it-was-a-free-to-troy

Seems we are no better than that docker runner m.afl.com.au/news/2014-06-12/lappin-cops-fineAlso **** is starting to hit the fan at Essendon with show cause notices issued - can see this being dragged out for years with the end punishment to be heavily diminished due to the passing of time.

Great time to be a Lawyer in Melbourne you would think, This is going to cost EFC a ****ing fortune! Hang in there Wrighty. They will probably see it as money well spent if they can hang onto some of their squad for longer and indeed not lose as many players or lose draft picks. This would have been a considered decision from the board to go this way; hopefully their fans can understand this.

Went to the Suns v Cats game last night.
First time at Metricon Stadium. First impressions are that they have a good set-up - real festival sort of feel about it. Band playing, plenty of stalls/tents - it really does well to target the sort of audience that the AFL are after. Some of the fans themselves aren't very knowledgeable about the game (so much so that they played an introduction video showcasing the basics in how the rules are applied!) and like to call some of their players by Queensland state of origin names but it was good to see Gold Coast seemingly embracing AFL down there unlike the titans who are on the wane it appears...
As for the game itself, well Geelong just didn't gel and get it all together down back. They really struggled without Harry Taylor and Lonegan had an awful night stepping into his shoes as our key backman. I have to say sitting right on the line that Stevie Motlop goal where it went close to going out of bounds but didn't (just) was one of the best goals I have seen.
Looking forward, I don't see any reason why Geelong can't win the rest of their games barring Hawthorne as the only other team that might beat them in Fremantle is at home - so top 4 is still a possibility.
