Pretty crazy race! Winterbottom handing over a race win?? Ill take it ;D
Will Davo doesnt seem to have that edge anymore. Even without the double stacking he seems to have drifted. Earlier in the year he was ahead of Frosty but now it seems Frosty has taken over as lead driver.
Interesting about the Owen car with the tyres! But I see its all been fixed now for tomorrow lol
Villeneuve.. well disappointing in qual and a shame about the race but will be cool to see him again tomorrow after having more laps under his belt.

Great drive from JW and a great display from CL and JW in the closing laps! Tander picked up some good points Big brain fade from Coulthard FPR lose it in the pits again, although could they have held off JW and CL at the end? Reynolds finishes 6th ;D Hide the razorblades, he didn't come here to finish 6th! On that note, please Larko your manlove for DR is embarrasing!

GT was the biggest mover this weekend. Leap frogged two SBR drivers in the championship. Something about FPR getting pole both days and failing to win on both occasions makes me smile. ;D

Seems like I missed quite the race So let me get this right FPR get top 3 in qualifying (that is all I saw), their best finisher is Frosty in 3rd? One, two for 888 when they qualified like 5th and 7th...WTF? Tyres again for FPR I'll probably watch the race later...

Whincup Lowndes 1-2 after qualifying 4th and 9th. FPR 1-2-3 finish in 3rd 5th and 6th ;D At the start of the season FPR had the edge in qual and the race but now halfway through the year 888 seem to have been working on race pace. And its working! ;D Excellent racing from Lowndes and Whincup!! Got a bit hairy but they both didnt want to give up which was great to see! JDub now has a bit of a buffer in the championship going into the next round which is 888 playground ;D

Here are some interesting facts and statistics from the weekend (highlighed the interesting ones): Jamie Whincup became the first driver to win both races in the same weekend in the brief history of the Sucrogen Townsville 400. Having previously won a race in each of the three previous years of the event, he’s also made sure he’s won a race in each of the four years the event has been held since 2009. * Whincup’s win in Race 15 from ninth on the grid was the second time he’s scored the same result on the Reid Park street track. He won from ninth on the grid in the inaugural race back in 2009 on the Saturday.* For the second year in a row, TeamVodafone scored a 1-2 in the Sunday race in Townsville. Again the order was the same with Whincup leading home Craig Lowndes. * It’s also the second event in a row where the team has scored a 1-2 on the Sunday after Lowndes led home Whincup in Race 13 at Hidden Valley in Darwin. * Amazingly, TeamVodafone and Ford Performance Racing have won the last 18 races straight in the V8 Supercars Championship since November last year. Rick Kelly and Jack Daniel’s Racing were the last combination (in the wet Saturday race at Sandown in 2011) outside FPR and Triple Eight to win a race in the V8SC. * While he wasn’t able to score a podium on Sunday to back up his second-place from Saturday, Mark Winterbottom broke the lap record in Race 15 on Sunday. His 1m13.4066s lap undercut the mark set by Lee Holdsworth last year by a narrow margin (1m13.4160s). * Whincup has now built a 100-point lead over Winterbottom at the completion of Townsville. Will Davison is now 140 points behind the TeamVodafone pilot, almost the equivalent of one race win, which is worth 150 points. * The Bottle-O’s David Reynolds became the 50th driver in the history of the Australian Touring Car Championship/V8 Supercars Championship to take a pole position on Sunday. * The last ‘new’ pole-sitter was Luke Youlden last year at the L&H 500 at Phillip Island when he and Will Davison topped the points in the qualifying sprints and took pole for the enduro. * Reynolds’ weekend also vaulted him into the top 10 in the championship. He entered the event 12th after entering the last event in Darwin back in 19th. * Despite an improved weekend, Dick Johnson Racing still don’t have a car in the top half of the points. The best remains Steven Johnson in 15th from Steve Owen (18th), Dean Fiore (21st) and James Moffat (27th).* The team put three of its cars into the Top 10 Shootout on Saturday, the first time DJR has had three cars qualify in the top 10 this season.
Poor old Dick...even with the promising signs earlier on in the weekend with 3 of his cars in the top 10 in practice and qualifying...they all still sit outside the top 14 (which is effectively outside the top half). www.v8supercars.com.au/championship/newsarticle/analysis-townsville-by-the-numbers/tabid/70/newsid/12648/default.aspx
