Awesome win for Whincup. He proved that his car can both preserve its tyres and be economical on fuel compared to the FPR cars.
I think FPR can be disappointed with that race. Frosty let slip a good lead at the start and then just really struggled to match Whincup's pace for the rest of the race. Willy D suffered the indignity of having to stack behind Frosty and just didn't really recover from that...not that he had a great race before that.
I thought Lowndesy recovered well...he had to go through the same stacking pain as Willy D but by virtue of that extra pit-stop and more fuel...managed to gain a few of his places lost.
GT put in a very professional and consummate performance. He was put at a disadvantage at the start when he began on the alternate strategy of starting on softs but benefited greatly from the early SC that allowed him to get over his hard tyre stint before another SC was called...so well done.
Reynolds...he is like an entirely different driver in the race. If someone hadn't watched qualifying and you told them that he got second in the shoot-out, they would be absolutely flabbergasted and wouldn't of thought that would be possible...but it may also just come down to the fact that the FPR cars just use their tyres so much more than 888.
Also, Fabian Coulthard needs a big mention. Another measured drive which enabled him to get a solid top 5. Also, JC should be proud of his drive today as it was improved on what he usually brings to the table.

Whincup has skipped away, especially from Willy D holding a 119 point lead over him. Garth Tander moved up a spot as SBR struggled today - probably their worst race of the year.
