This is the first round I've missed in ages. Looking forward to seeing the replay on Fox tonight. Seeing that we have a Holden victory has given me the incentive to watch! R2 is worth a watch just to see how well t8 jumped fpr in the pits and watch car 1 and 888 battle the last couple of laps.

Wow Larko loves Reynolds doesn't he. I actually think for a commentator to admit that he is actively "barracking" for a driver can be considered a little unprofessional. And I like Larko and he does a good job, but I think he needs to be careful admitting as much. Especially as Skaife seems to cop it for being biased all the time, when he never goes on air and sprouts stuff like that.
I think the big gains 888 have made have been in economy. FPR had a massive strategic advantage with that earlier in the year. Not only could they run longer, but they could change to a soft tyre earlier because of their bigger fuel window. That seems to have gone now.
888 also seem far easier on their tyres.

Yeah, the Larko/Reynolds thing is not good viewing!
Also noted that when the leading drivers done their final pistops on Sunday Reynolds was the only one with used softs!
Does this tell us he is working harder to stay with the rest?

Not only could they run longer, but they could change to a soft tyre earlier because of their bigger fuel window. That seems to have gone now. Well that's it. FPR early on in the season could rely on their greater fuel economy numbers to off-set 888's more superior tyre conservation by being able to get on the softs earlier...but now that advantage in fuel economy for FPR seems to have dwindled and FPR are now up against it with 888 nearly and probably are beating them in all departments.

Yeah good point donk...I would say it would. To even get close to Frosty and Willy D in the same equipment in his first year with the team would suggest that he would have to use more of the car and therefore its tyres.

Well as I argued before that because FPR tend to use more of its tyres in the race, a side-effect of this may be that they can achieve greater performance in qualifying as they can build residual heat into their tyres quicker and get optimal performance immediately in the lap they need it rather than say for 888 where that heat build-up may be more gradual. If we compare it to F1, FPR probably are experiencing the 'Mercedes' effect.

This rule has now been reviewed whereby I interpret it as being changed to a scenario where JW would be found to have breached this 'spinning wheel' rule - as the rule now reads that the wheels can't be spinning at all before the car hits the ground. And the only condition on that is that they are allowed to spin the wheels if they are checking for damage...
