So I was searching youtube for some sledging videos to compare the all time great ones with what we saw a few days back in Brisbane and what did I happen to find?
I think this goes a long way to explaining Clarkey's words backed up by what Johnson was going to do with the ball...

I didn't believe the reports but here we are: Trott is to go back home because of stress. Reminds me of Trescothick of a few years back doing the same thing. But while you don't think the worse of a cricketer's courage and willingness to go out there and face the music, I just can't help but feel that he is afraid to face Johnson and is taking the short cut out. www.espncricinfo.com/the-ashes-2013-14/content/current/story/692405.html

England looking in a bit of strife after failing to dispense with a CA invitational team. Close to 40 degrees today in Alice Springs has to be taking something away from their performances though...hope the Adelaide test match is hot

Very good day for Australia yesterday and what an absolute belter of a ball to dismiss Cook. Let's hope Johnson can fire up again and knock over a few early.

Couple of members tickets came my way yesterday so made my way in to the Oval - or should I say the Stadium. Just don't get why so many sit out the back of the members and watch little to no cricket live...should have seen them all streaming back in when Johnson was on those hat tricks. Even with thousands out the back - got to say the atmosphere when Johnson was running through them was amazing. Didn't even know the Barmy Army were there for most of the afternoon. We were all baying for blood, even the members were fired up. Was like a footy crowd. And the David Hookes Terrace bar is like a little bit of the hill in the members - in terms of atmosphere, not aesthetics Was surprised how hard it was to see the ball race through the outfield from the top of the stands - thought it would be easier than at ground level. Going to be awesome up high for footy though. And those massive ceiling fans in the stands are good - was very humid yesterday so was good to have them moving air through the top of the stands. Was also surprised to see one of the Englishman laying batting gloves out to dry on the boundary line - figure they must have got a sweat up practicing in the nets.

Good to hear your view on how the new stadium is. Weird about those huge ceiling fans - very Indian I must say but weren't they used in the old Chappell stands Also can't wait till the footy is played on it. On the members, I suppose it's all a big social/business thing with cricket being the sideline entertainment. But those marquees outside the ground seem to be where it is at; they looked packed on the aerial shots.

On the situation in the cricket, our bowlers are starting to look rather second hand so the faster the better in getting the remaining 4 wickets.
Lyon really needs to bag a few for his confidence as his bowling yesterday left a lot to be desired.

Hopefully the weather in the city is better than where I am at work (Mawson Lakes - about 20 minutes drive north of the Oval). Really seems to be settling in here. Possibly my fault for hanging **** on Brisbane's weather during the Gabba test a couple of weeks ago.

Possibly my fault for hanging **** on Brisbane's weather during the Gabba test a couple of weeks ago. Weather doesn't look good but don't worry the English can't help but play their failed hook shots
